Wholesale size runs and size charts

How to specify sizes so the goods fit your customers.

Size runs and ratios

A size run is the list of sizes in an order, for example S to XL. A ratio sets how many of each size you want, for example 1-2-2-1 for S, M, L, XL.

Ratios should reflect your own sales history. Turkish size runs are often written as 38-40-42-44 or as 1-2-3-4, and loose cuts such as capes are often sold in one standard size. If you do not have a sales history, ask for a starting suggestion.

Regional size systems

Sizes are labelled differently in different markets: letters (S, M, L), European numbers, UK and US numbers. Tell us which system your label should use and give us a size chart.

A size chart with body measurements, not only garment measurements, is the most reliable reference.

Fit and grading

Grading is how a pattern is scaled across sizes. Check the sample in more than one size, especially the largest, because proportions change across the run.

Frequently asked questions

Can you grade to my size chart?

Yes, if you send the chart with measurements. We confirm the grading on the sample.

Can I order a single size run per style?

Yes. The ratio is specified per style.
